VMI Northstar Wheelchair Vans

VMI Northstar wheelchair vans have a power in-floor handicap ramp system that makes entering and exiting the wheelchair van easy. The power mechanism is contained in a space in the floor, so the mobility equipment is protected from the elements and out of the way. However, there is much more to a Northstar conversion than a power in-floor wheelchair ramp.

The entire Northstar wheelchair accessible van system is operated by a remote. Simply touch the button on the hand held remote (it easily fits into a purse or pocket), and the power door activates. Once the passenger side sliding door is open, the power in-floor mobility ramp deploys smoothly. While the door is opening and the ramp is deploying, the PowerKneel features draws the handicap van closer to the ground to reduce the wheelchair ramp angle.

The interior of the Northstar wheelchair van conversion has been designed to seamlessly blend with the OEM features for Chrysler, Dodge, or Honda. Manufacturer quality carpet and switches complete this effect.

All VMI Northstar handicapped vans come standard with 2 quick release front seats, allowing a wheelchair to sit in the front passenger position or even drive. Additional mobility aids like hand controls, a transfer seat, or reduced effort steering can easily be added to Northstar conversions.

VMI Northstar handicapped vehicles are available on Honda, Chrysler, and Dodge chassis. Customers can choose from a wide variety of colors and interior packages, and unique features like DVD players and navigation systems are available.

New handicap vans with a Northstar conversion can be seen at many mobility dealerships throughout the country. They can also be ordered from the factory if your color choice or other preferences are not met. Used wheelchair vans can be a little more difficult to find, but there are many used vans with a new Northstar conversion available.
