VMI Summit Wheelchair Accessible Vans

VMI Summit wheelchair vans have a power folding wheelchair ramp system that makes entering and exiting the mobility van easy. The power mechanism is contained in a space in the floor, so the machinery is protected from the elements and out of the way. Summit handicap van conversions have more interior space than other folding handicap ramp van conversions, so there is more room for navigating a wheelchair or scooter. However, there is much more to a Summit conversion than a power folding ramp.

The entire VMI Summit handicapped vehicle system is operated by a remote. Simply touch the button on the hand held remote (it easily fits into a purse or pocket), and the power door activates. Once the passenger side sliding door is open, the power folding ramp deploys smoothly. While the door is opening and the ramp is deploying, the PowerKneel features draws the van closer to the ground to reduce the ramp angle.

The interior of the Summit handicap accessible van conversion has been designed to seamlessly blend with the OEM features for Chrysler, Dodge, or Honda. Manufacturer quality carpet and switches complete this effect.

All Summit wheelchair van conversions come standard with 2 quick release front seats, allowing a wheelchair to sit in the front passenger position or even drive. Additional mobility aids like hand controls, a transfer seat, or reduced effort steering can easily be added to Summit mobility conversions.

Summit mobility vans are available on Honda, Chrysler, and Dodge chassis. Customers can choose from a wide variety of colors and interior packages, and unique features like DVD players and navigation systems are available.

New wheelchair vans with a Summit accessible van conversion can be seen at many mobility dealerships throughout the country. They can also be ordered from the factory if your color choice or other preferences are not met. Used handicap vans can be a little more difficult to find, but there are many used vans with a new Summit conversion available.
